Medical Strategy
Role: Lead Designer | Company: BCG
Designing an executive strategy presentation for a medical complay by clarifying complex content and shaping a human-centered narrative to support leadership alignment.
Project Description
The project focused on supporting a leadership readout for a medical company by refining and elevating a strategy presentation developed by the case team. The ask was to clarify complex, text-heavy content, strengthen the narrative across key moments of the deck, and explore a more human-centered visual approach while maintaining analytical rigor.
My Role
As the lead designer, my responsibilities included setting the visual direction, driving concept exploration, and partnering closely with the case team to refine complex content into a clear, human-centered narrative across key presentation moments. In addition to setting the visual direction and guiding concept exploration, the role included maintaining ongoing client communication and presenting multiple design concepts directly to BCG’s client stakeholders, ensuring alignment between strategic intent, content, and visual approach throughout the engagement.
Impact
The design work helped bring clarity and focus to a complex, text-heavy strategy narrative intended for a senior leadership audience. By strengthening visual hierarchy and narrative structure, the presentation supported productive discussion, alignment across stakeholders, and informed decision-making around key recommendations and the proposed roadmap.
Presentation Concepts
Two distinct, custom design concepts were created for the client to review and select from, each tailored to support the strategic narrative and leadership audience. Each concept showcases a cover and two content slide mock ups.
Concept One
I was inspired by the medial client’s focus on advancing efficiency and expanding impact across multiple areas of its business. I used dynamic shapes and gradients to convey a sense of momentum as the organization moves toward its 2030 vision.
Concept Two
Concept two was inspired by the medical client’s commitment to navigating complex challenges in pursuit of innovative solutions within an ever-changing medical landscape. Using gradient line work, I visualized the transformational journey the medical client is undertaking. This approach was paired with imagery that reflects the passion and dedication the team brings to its work.
Final Presentation
Concept one was selected by the client as the preferred direction to move forward with for the full presentation build out.
The People Have Spoken…
In particular, I noticed that Mallory interacted with our client very effectively. She has great presence, is a clear speaker, and took questions well. I felt quite comfortable with her in front of our main client.
